Summer Camp Offerings

 

Does your child like to act? Then let your rising first, second, third, fourth, or fifth grader "ham it up" with Drama Camp this summer! Marc Barrett, Lower School Christian Education teacher at KRCS, has a master's degree in creative arts in learning and a passion for youth drama.

 

This Drama Club will consist of various activities that will enhance the students' passion for theater, sharpen their acting skills, and develop their confidence and teamwork. Your child will have so much fun playing theater games designed to help children learn pantomime, improv acting, and scene work.

Coding & Robotics Camp, June 2 - June 6
Ages: Rising 5th - 8th Grade  
Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM  
Cost: $300
Location: Middle School, Robotics Room

Students will spend their week hands-on with computers and robots. This camp is oriented toward both students who have never coded and those who have experience. Its structure will allow students to choose their own pace.

Sweet Treats Baking and Cookie Camp, June 9 - June 13
Ages: Rising 2nd - 5th Grade

Bump, set, spike! Come learn and refine the basic skills of volleyball this summer!

 

Students in grades K-8 will be able to participate in skill sessions that focus on form, understanding of the game, and, most importantly, FUN! 

 

No prior volleyball experience is required.

Vocal & Acting Camp, June 9 - June 13
Ages: Rising 8th - 12th grade  
Time: 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM  
Cost: $175
Location: Fine Arts Academy

Students will perform in masterclasses, participate in exciting interactive drama games, learn vocal exercises to expand range, stretch, and un-press the vocal cords, free the natural sound, and explore body mapping (all super science-y nerdy-fun stuff!).

 

Students will explore Belting and cross-training Vocal Athleticism and become more comfortable with Contemporary Commercial VocalStyles —all while navigating healthy vocal habitation! We will mainly focus on audition techniques, stage presence, commanding attention, and maximizing the impact of a well-timed comedic or tear-jerking moment. 

Students will leave encouraged, inspired, and equipped with a more authentic and healthy approach to actualizing their artistry. It’s going to be so much fun! 

Students will need to be prepared to sing (2)contrasting-style 16-barr song selections of their choice from any genre, including worship, pop, rock, Broadway, and classical. The most important things to bring are the spirit of flexibility and a teachable attitude!

Students will receive a personalized apron and a cookbook with all the week's recipes.

Lego Robotics introduces science, technology, engineering, and math to KRCS's rising 3^rd, 4^th, and 5^th graders through fun, exciting hands-on learning.

Through a guided, global robotics program, students gain real-world problem-solving experience. This helps today's students and teachers build a better future together!

If you have done it previously, there are plenty of modules to complete, so you do not complete the same ones time after time.

Digital music is a tour of music creation using Pro Tools. Students will learn how to program a beat and create a song.
