  • Basketball (Rising K - 8th)

    Basketball Camp, June 3-7
    Ages: Rising K – 8th Grade (Boys and Girls)
    Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

    Location: Student Center and/or Lower School/Adler Gymnasium

    This camp is loaded with instruction, games, and fun! Our format is designed to satisfy a wide range of skill levels.

    Whether your camper is a confident superstar, a shy beginner, or somewhere in between, our coaches will provide the appropriate level of instruction with a daily emphasis on fundamental development, team play, and more. We look forward to helping your son or daughter enhance their basketball skills.
    • Campers will be grouped by age, height, and skill set.
    • Each level will have 1 on 1, 2 on 2, 3 on 3, 4 on 4, Hotshot, and free throw competitions.
    • All winners will receive medals on Championship Friday.
    • All Campers will receive a Camp basketball and t-shirt.
    • Campers should wear basketball shoes and shorts.
    • Campers should pack their own lunch.
    • Concessions will be available each day. *Please note we are a peanut-free campus.

  • Drama Camp (Rising 1st - 5th)

    Does your child like to act? Then let your rising first, second, third, fourth, or fifth grader “ham it up” with Drama Camp this summer! Marc Barrett, a classroom teacher at KRCS, has a master’s degree in creative arts in learning and a passion for youth drama.
     
    This Drama Club will consist of a variety of activities that will enhance the student’s passion for theater, sharpen their acting skills, and develop their confidence and teamwork. Your child will have so much fun playing theater games! These games are designed to help children learn pantomime, improv acting, and scene work.
     
    Students will showcase their acting skills with a fun show for parents and friends on Friday of the camp week! Mr. Barrett hopes to inspire your children to teamwork, character, and confidence!
     
    Drama Camp is an afternoon camp from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM - feel free to sign your child up for one of the morning camps and stay after for lunch (bring your own lunch) at KRCS and join Drama Camp in the afternoon.

    Our camp helps prepare new & elite athletes. Our sports performance programs will help develop speed, agility, balance, functional strength, power, reaction time, mobility, core stability, mental awareness, and confidence.

    Our program is equipped with knowledge from many different sports. We have trained with NFL players, college football players, soccer players, lacrosse, track and field stars & much more. The coach of this camp was part of the national qualifying team for the Olympics. After attending this camp, you will get an exclusive in our training seminar with a former NFL player.

  • Vocal Performance Intensive (Rising 8th - 12th)

    Vocal Performance Intensive, June 3-7
    Ages: Rising 8th - 12th grade  Time: 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM  Cost: $260 Location: Fine Arts AcademyInstructor: Dawna Thomas
    Students will perform in masterclasses, participate in exciting interactive drama games, learn vocal exercises to expand range, stretch, and un-press the vocal cords, free the natural sound, and explore body mapping (all super science-y nerdy-fun stuff!).
    Students will dive into belting and cross-training vocal athleticism and become more comfortable with contemporary commercial vocal stylisms while navigating healthy vocal habitation! We will mainly focus on audition techniques, stage presence, commanding attention, and getting the most out of a well-timed comedic or tear-jerking moment.

    Students will leave encouraged, inspired, and quipped and have a more authentic and healthy approach to actualizing their artistry! It’s going to be so much fun!

    Students will need to be prepared to sing (2) contrasting style 16 bar song selections of their choice: any genre from worship, pop, rock, Broadway, to classical. The most important things to bring are the spirit of flexibility and a teachable attitude!

    Habla Espanol while experiencing historical and cultural activities in la clase de espanol y Alpharetta. 

    During the week, students will speak Spanish while experiencing the history of the Mayan ruins, tasting and preparing typical cultural dishes in la clase, salsa dancing, painting pottery, and creating a fun keepsake. 

    After learning about food and how to order it in Espanol, we will take a field trip to a Mexican restaurant for outside dining. Every day, we will include a fun Spanish lesson that teaches cultural customs and basic conversational phrases. At the end of the week, we will have a pinata fiesta and a keepsake with a Spanish phrase. Hasta pronto

    A few of the week's activities include a cake-decorating extravaganza, cake pop creation, and a variety of cookie decorating and baking techniques - plus, so much more!

    The Knight School Summer Chess Camps are the perfect way to get ready to join your school's official chess team and chess party in the fall. Chess Camp has a fun and friendly spirit and is a great way to keep the brain sharp during the summer while having an absolute blast!
         
    Chess Camp is a super-fun, high-energy chess experience. Kids celebrate a new chess tactic daily with silly videos, music-driven puzzlers for prizes, colorful silicone Tactixbands, funny movies, and chess clock tourneys! Laughter, fast clocks, and compelling teaching approaches make this camp the summer's highlight for the current hundreds of kids who make up the awesome network of The Knight School's nationwide chess teams.
     
    This summer, chess camp will have completely brand-new and uniquely themed lessons about a different chess opening strategy EACH WEEK! It's the perfect way to get a leg up on the students who skipped camp this week!

    This Drama Club will consist of a variety of activities that will enhance the student’s passion for theater, sharpen their acting skills, and develop their confidence and teamwork. Your child will have so much fun playing theater games! These games are designed to help children learn pantomime, improv acting, and scene work.

    Students will spend their week hands-on with computers and robots. This camp is oriented toward students who have never coded and those who have experience.

    The structure of the camp will allow students to choose their own pace. We will have access to all the latest LEGO robotics kits from EV3 to Spike Prime and Robot Inventor (including their expansion sets).

    Students will need to bring their own device (e.g., Windows or Mac laptop). All software licenses and assistance with installing any applicable software will be provided. Many core programming concepts will be taught, including variables, syntax, methods, recursion, loops, etc. Languages used include Python, Java, Scratch Robot C, and more.

    Students can explore many helpful sites they can use even when camp is over, including Code Combat, Code Monkey, Code Academy, and more.

    The art of the Song. Have you ever wondered how to take scribblings in your journal and turn them into actual songs? Have you ever struggled to put your feelings into words? Do you have difficulty deciding how to set your lyrics to music? This camp is for YOU!

    We will explore all songwriting nuances, from lyrics to music production. The camp includes: How do I develop song ideas? How do I turn those ideas into lyrics? How do I create a melody? How do I create instrumentation for my song? How do I produce the final product?

    The goal for the week will be for each participant to finish a song. The final day of camp will be held at Mr. P's recording studio in Roswell, where you'll get hands-on experience in how a studio works, plus, for those who have finished a song, an opportunity to record vocals!

    Students will perform in masterclasses, participate in exciting interactive drama games, learn vocal exercises to expand range, stretch, and un-press the vocal cords, free the natural sound, and explore body mapping (all super science-y nerdy-fun stuff!).
     
    Students will dive into Belting, Cross-training Vocal Athleticism, as well as become more comfortable with Contemporary Commercial Vocal Stylisms —all while navigating healthy vocal habitation! We will mainly focus on audition techniques, stage presence, commanding attention, and getting the most out of a well-timed comedic or tear-jerking moment.

    Students will leave encouraged, inspired, and quipped and have a more authentic and healthy approach to actualizing their artistry! It’s going to be so much fun!

    Students will need to be prepared to sing (2) contrasting style 16 bar song selections of their choice: any genre from worship, pop, rock, Broadway, to classical. The most important things to bring are the spirit of flexibility and a teachable attitude!
