Financial Aid

The National Association of Independent School’s Guiding Principles for Families acknowledges responsibility for funding an independent school education rests primarily with the family.
However, we also recognize that some families can afford to pay some, but not all of the tuition.

As an independent school, we believe part of educating our students is to understand that resources come in the form of time, talents and treasures. It is our responsibility to create an environment in which our students acknowledge the existence of a variety of economic backgrounds.

Scholarships to enroll students based on merit are strictly prohibited by the Georgia High School Association.

  • Eligibility

    • Financial aid is awarded based on demonstrated need of the financial situation of the parent. Student performance in academics, fine arts or athletics has no influence on a financial aid eligiblity.
    • All families must pay a portion of the costs for their child to attend KRCS. The financial aid process starts with a recommendation by School and Student Services after completing the Parents’ Financial Statement.
    • Tuition refund insurance is required for all families that receive financial aid, even if paying the portion due in full.
    • Demonstrated need is defined as the difference between the tuition cost and the recommended amount which a family is able to contribute towards the student’s education after considering factors such as net income, assets, number of dependents, number of children attending tuition-charging institutions and any unusual expenses such as medical costs or educational debt.
    • To be eligible for consideration for financial aid, you must complete your Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) by February 20 and upload Required Financial Documents (1040, W-2, KRCS Letter Request for Financial Aid) by February 28. If you have yet not completed the 2019 - Form 1040, proceed with uploading the 2018 - Form 1040 and replace it with the 2019 version as soon as it is completed. The Financial Aid Committee will communicate financial aid decisions in mid-April.
    • KRCS receives a report of an estimated amount your family can contribute to educational expenses based on documentation submitted along with your Parents Financial Statement (PFS). This estimate is a starting point to help us make fair and objective financial aid decisions. To begin your financial aid application for the upcoming school year, please review the Financial Aid Application Steps.
  • Financial Aid Notes

    • Financial aid is awarded on a one-year basis to parents. You must apply for financial aid each year to be considered.
    • In order to be considered for financial aid, the Parents Financial Statement (PFS), 1040 and W-2s are required of both biological parents even in cases of divorce, separation or estrangement.
    • Candidates who miss deadlines or fail to submit all documentation will risk not being considered for financial assistance. Financial aid is considered in this priority: parent of current student receiving financial aid, parent of current student newly applying for financial aid, newly enrolled students. Missing a deadline will put your priority consideration at risk.
    • The Financial Aid Committee maintains strict confidentiality over financial aid files. Faculty and students are not informed of financial aid decisions. Families must respect the process in a similar manner and not communicate the amount or designation of a financial aid award. Failure to do so will put the continuation of the award at risk.
    • Current KRCS families applying for financial aid must have completed updating enrollment documentation and submitted a deposit for the upcoming year to be considered for financial assistance.
    • Tuition refund insurance is required for all families that receive financial aid, even if paying the portion due in full.
    • King’s Ridge Christian School does not discriminate with regard to the awarding of financial aid based on an applicant’s race, color, creed, sex or national origin.
