BLOG: The Gift of Jesus

Karl Graustein
The Christmas season is filled with joy, fun, and festivities—lights and candles, trees and decorations, cards and gifts, parties and gatherings, music and carols, cookies and feasts. But most of all, it is a time for celebrating the birth of Jesus: the Prince of Peace, Immanuel (God with us), the Savior of the world.

The Christmas story is miraculous and true. God the Father so loved the world that He sent Jesus on a rescue mission. Angels visited Mary and Joseph to reveal God’s plan, and they believed even though they didn’t fully understand. After their long journey to Bethlehem, Jesus was born in a barn, wrapped in cloths, and laid in a manger. Angels announced His birth as good news of great joy for all people. Shepherds hurried to see the newborn baby Jesus, and they praised God for all they heard and saw.

Jesus came, and the world was completely changed. He is the greatest Christmas gift.

I am grateful that at King’s Ridge Christian School, we get to celebrate Jesus every day, and especially during this Christmas season. Through class lessons, chapels, musicals, and choir concerts, we celebrate the joy of the season while keeping our focus on Jesus.

So, enjoy the fun and busyness of the season. Find the perfect gift, enjoy music and song, and treasure celebrations with family and friends.

Most of all, let’s remember that this season marks the coming of Jesus. The One who created the universe humbled Himself by becoming a baby for us. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross, and rose from the grave for us. And if we place our faith in Him, we will be saved.

Merry Christmas!
